How do I contact the Broomwood transport department?

You can contact us at  broomwood@studentsafe.com

Our normal Term Time working hours are: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00.

During holiday periods we will check emails periodically.

My email will not work when registering?

Please make sure you are using the email address that you have given as your primary email contact. Please email the School, transport@Broomwood.com to update your details.

When registering my email, I didn’t receive a 6-digit code?

If you do not receive a code, then your mobile telephone number does not match the records held by the School. Please email the School, at  transport@Broomwood.com  to update your details

What if I would like an additional stop?

Our service can be flexible, and we are able to add additional stops if there is sufficient demand and any proposed additional stops if they do not adversely affect the route. Please contact StudentSafe at broomwood@studentsafe.com for assistance.

How much does the service cost?

A place on the bus will be charged on a termly, flat fee basis, payable half-termly in advance, which will guarantee a place for either one or both journeys. The charges for the Autumn term are

Monday to Friday AM and PM ZONE 1 £580 ZONE 2 £680

Monday to Friday AM only ZONE1 £450 ZONE 2 £500

Monday to Friday PM only ZONE 1 £450 ZONE 2 £500

Ad-hoc usage is charged at £9.50 per journey

There is a small annual charge of £35 per child for registration on the StudentSafe platform.

Should places be oversubscribed, we will operate a first come, first served basis, to ensure fairness.

How do I book a regular place on the bus for my child?

Bookings should be made via the parent app. The search facility provides the opportunity to search for the closest stops to your home address. Bookings are made for the term and are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to pupils with regular weekly travel arrangements.

How do I book an occasional place on the bus for my child?

Bookings can be made for occasional ad hoc journeys by using the “calendar/my bookings” section. Simply follow the instructions to book and amend ad-hoc journeys. Bookings are made based on the availability for the selected route/date and are made on a first-come, first served basis. Priority is given to pupils with regular weekly travel arrangements.

What age are pupils  allowed to start using the school bus?

We accept pupils from Class 1 onwards. Exceptionally we might accept younger pupils after a risk assessment or if they are travelling with a responsible older sibling.

What if my child misses the bus?

We recommend pupils are always at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before departure. Vehicles should not depart before their allocated time. If your child does miss the vehicle, however, they will need to make their own way to school. Please notify the driver through the app if this is the case.

What if I need different stops/routes during the week to accommodate my child’s regular travel?

As long as the stop is on the route provided, our service can be flexible, in this instance please email broomwood@studentsafe.com with your details and requirements and we will check the availability for you.

What if I need to amend my travel arrangements after booking?

Amendments can be made via the “My Bookings” page. Simply follow the instructions. Amendments are subject to the availability on any given day.

What happens if my child is late getting to the bus stop? How long does the bus wait at the bus stop?

The bus departs at the time noted – please arrive early.

My child has a friend staying overnight, can they catch the bus together?

Yes, subject to availability. For H&S reasons the friend must be properly booked onto the bus, by their own parent as they will be accepting the cost.

When will bus invoices be issued and how should payment be made?

We charge for autumn, spring and summer at the beginning of each term. Ad Hoc use is charged at the end of each term in arrears. Please see our fare list for further details. Charges quoted are subject to change. Charges are reviewed termly..

If my child does not catch the bus will I be charged?

Yes, we charge for the service by the term, we do not offer refunds for unused journeys.

How can I cancel the bus service?

Signing up for the bus is on a termly basis. Once signed up, you will be charged the full term.
